Your WordPress site’s back-end or “administration area” is where content creation and editing happens. The default location for your back end is http://yourWebsite.com/wp-admin (replace “yourWebsite.com” with the address of your website).
Enter the username and password that your development team provided via email when your Brighter Vision website went live. If you don’t remember your password, check out this tutorial: How Do I Reset My WordPress Password If I Can’t Remember It?
Step 1
Once you’re logged in, you’ll be taken to your main WordPress dashboard with a menu running vertically down the left side of your screen. Click the house in the upper right corner with your website’s name directly to its right, as shown here:
Step 2.
This will take you to your website’s home page. From here, navigate to the page you want to edit then click this Edit Page link in your WordPress admin menu:
Step 3.
This will open up your Page Editor. Make sure you’re working from the Visual tab, as shown here:
Visual mode is an approximation of how published content will appear and includes formatting buttons for bold, italic, strikethru, and more. It’s much like working within a program like Microsoft Word.
Step 4.
Edit the content directly in this box just as you would a Word document:
Step 5.
After you have completed your editing, save your changes by clicking this blue Update button:
After clicking Update, you should see a confirmation message like this one at the top of the Page Editor:
Once you see this, you can view your updated web page on your website by clicking the View page link text in that confirmation, as shown here:
