This guide explains how to configure your Android Mobile Device’s Mail application to access your Brighter Vision webmail account.
This tutorial was created running the Android 6 OS. If you are using different hardware or a different OS version, these instructions may differ.
Setting up webmail on Android
1. Launch your Email application by tapping its icon:
2. Enter your email address and password then tap Manual Setup, as shown here:
3. Tap IMAP Account, as shown here:
4. Enter your login information and the following server settings, as shown below.
Account
- Email address: your full email address
- User name: your full email address
- Password: your password
Incoming server
- IMAP server: mail.b.hostedemail.com
- Security type: SSL / TLS
- Port: 993
Outgoing server
- Host Name: mail.b.hostedemail.com
- Security type: SSL / TLS
- Port: 465
5. You will also want to check the box for Authentication required before sending emails and you will need to enter your full email address and password one more time. When you have finished, tap Sign In, as shown here:
This should complete your account setup!
Troubleshooting Tip
If you’re having trouble sending email, try again with one of the following alternate Outgoing mail server settings:
Alternate outgoing server #1
- Server Hostname: mail.b.hostedemail.com
- Port: 587
- Encryption method: SSL/TLS
Alternate outgoing server #2
- Server Hostname: mail.b.hostedemail.com
- Port: 25
- Encryption method: SSL/TLS
