Preparing Your Network Solutions Domain for Transfer

Thanks for choosing to move your domain name over to Brighter Vision!

Before our team can help, you will first need to log in to your Network Solutions account here and prepare your domain for transfer by following these 3 steps:


Step 1: Change Your Domain’s Privacy Settings to Public

If you are using private registration for your domain, you must disable it on Network Solutions’ end before we can start a domain transfer. You can skip this step if your domain doesn’t have privacy protection.

  • From your account dashboard, click on My Domain Names under the My Products and Services tab, as shown here:

  • If you do not have Private Registration on your domain, you will see a blue box at the top of the domain manager page prompting you to add it like this one:

  • However, if you do not see this box at the top of your domain manager page, you likely do have Private Registration enabled on your domain that you will need to turn off.
  • To do this, scroll down to the Domain Add-ons section and click the link to Turn Private Registration off.

  • Verify that the Turn Private Registration off radio button is selected, and click the blue Go button to save your changes, as shown here:

  • You can also check/change your domain’s privacy setting by following this link while logged in to your Network Solutions account and verifying that the Leave Private Registration off radio button is selected, then clicking the blue Go button, as shown here:

Step 2: Unlock Your Domain

For security reasons, Network Solutions domains are locked against transfer by default. Before you start a domain transfer, you must disable this transfer lock.

  • From your account dashboard, click on My Domain Names under the My Products and Services tab, as shown here:

  • Scroll down to the Domain Details section and click the blue Turn Off link text next to Transfer Lock, as shown here:

  • You will be taken to a confirmation page where you’ll select the Leave Domain Transfer Lock off radio button then click the turquoise Save button, as shown here:

  • Once this has been saved, the Transfer Lock will display as Off in your Domain Details section, as shown here:

Step 3: Request a Transfer Authorization Code (EPP Code)

The authorization code prevents unauthorized third parties from accessing your domain. We will need this code as proof that you have already approved (authorized) the domain transfer.

  • From your account dashboard, click on My Domain Names under the My Products and Services tab, as shown here:

  • Scroll down to the Domain Details section and click the blue Request Authorization Code link text next to Transfer Lock, as shown here:

  • You will be taken to a confirmation page where you’ll be offered a chance to renew your domain with Network Solutions at a discounted rate. To continue, simply click the gray Continue Transfer button, as shown here:

  • Once again, you will see another confirmation page that requires you to check a box in the lower left-hand corner then click the Continue Transfer button one more time to verify your request, as shown here:

  • The next page will ask you a couple of questions about why you’re transferring your domain, which registrar you’re transferring to, and so on. Answer the questions and click the turquoise Save button, as shown here:

  • You will then see a final confirmation message saying that Network Solutions has received your request and you will get the EPP Code via email to your Administrative Contact email address with 3 days.

  • Save this code to transfer your domain to us.

Next Steps

Once you have completed all of the above steps to ensure your domain is prepared for transfer, the next will be to send our Support Team an email at support@brightervision.com letting us know you are ready to proceed, and to share your domain’s transfer authorization code (from step 3) with us.

After we receive this code, we will then have all the necessary information needed to move your domain over to Brighter Vision. Once we have initiated the transfer, a member of our Support Team will reach out via email to let you know.

From here, we will keep our eyes on things and let you know if anything else is needed from your end. Otherwise, your transfer will be completed within approximately 7 days from the date we initiated the transfer.
